#17 - La miezul nopții va veni Isus

Strofa 1 1. La miezul nopţii va veni Isus, cu pas domol (At midnight Jesus will come with a gentle step,) Şi vai de cel ce-l va găsi pierdut, cu suflet gol! (And woe to the one He finds lost, with an empty soul!) O, lumea asta de nevoi, cum a orbit acum, (Oh, how this troubled world has become blind,) Crezând că ziua de apoi a-ntârziat pe drum! (Believing that the final day has been delayed along the way!)

Strofa 2 2. Fiecare-n lucrul lui să-şi pună-al vieţii gând, (Let each person put their life’s purpose into their work,) Ca să-I arate Domnului, când va veni curând! (To show it to the Lord when He comes soon!) Din somn treziţi-vă, sculaţi, căci vă pândesc dureri, (Awake from sleep, arise, for sorrows lie in wait for you,) Şi unul pe-altul vă-ndemnaţi la sfinte privegheri! (And urge one another to keep holy watch!)

Strofa 3 3. Deci suflete, fii gata, treaz, o clipă nu dormi, (So, my soul, be ready and awake; do not sleep for even a moment,) Că trece Mirele chiar azi şi daru-ţi vei primi! (For the Bridegroom passes by this very day, and you will receive your gift!) Venirea Lui s-apropiat, să treacă judecând! (His coming has drawn near, when He will pass through in judgment!) O, suflet, ține-te curat, căci poţi cădea oricând! (Oh, soul, keep yourself pure, for you may fall at any time!)
