Strofa 1 1. Te-aștept, Isuse privind spre ceruri (I await You, Jesus, looking toward heaven) Să văd dacă nu vii. (To see whether You are coming.) În orice seară, eu Te chem iară, (Every evening I call to You again,) Pentru-a mă pregăti. (To prepare myself.)

Strofa 2 2. Te-aștept și ziua și-mi este teamă (I await You by day as well, and I am afraid) Că Tu vei apărea. (That You will appear.) O, dă-mi putere când am durere (Oh, give me strength when I am in pain,) Ca să mă pot lupta. (So that I may keep fighting.)
